Structure of Classes - Bala Vikas

  • 10:15 am - Practice of Surya Namaskar, Om meditation, Pranayana, Sloka chanting (meet inside main hall at 10:05 am - (4 year old class meet in Meditation Hall at 10:25am)
  • 10:30 am - Meet in small classes according to age; Topic story - Ramayana or human values, jumble puzzle, crosswords, or coloring, learning of slokas.
  • 11:30 am - Meet in large group for Shirdi Sai Arati - Jaya Jagadishe
  • 11:45 am - Snacks

 

Spoken Sanskrit Class - For adults, 1pm - 2pm every Sunday; Jan 15 - May 20, 2012, in Meditation Hall.

The class is free, but please visit http://www.samskritabharatiusa.org now to register.  There are limited seats available.  

In the class you will learn 1) To be able to converse in Samskritam in simple sentences; 2) To be able to understand simple slokas and proverbs.  

Tamil Class - For kids, 3pm - 4pm, in Meditation Hall (class is full).

Yoga for Adults & Teens - SPRING 2012, 9am-10am, in Meditation Hall (a few spaces are available, call 528-0807 for details)

Teacher Sita Chaitanya, trained by Sivananda School of Yoga.

Option 1: Alternate Sundays -matching enrollment in Bala Vikas classes - 9 weeks for $63 ($7 per class)

Option 2: Every Sunday, 9am-10am - 18 weeks for $126 ($7 per class)

The Youth Group (ages 9-18) will meet every Sunday, 4:00 pm from Jan 8 - May 20, 2012, with a spring break - see Bala Vikas schedule above.
Older kids have a LOT of questions about their religion.  “Why this, why that?”  We have some experienced teachers who can approach the religion in a scientific way so that the youth can intellectually understand and appreciate the importance of their religion and culture.
